This was painted to remind a dear friend of the view from her childhood home. I wanted her to remember those care-free, warm summer nights, running through the grass or sitting on the porch with the family, as the sun set behind the mountain and the light was flooding across the expanse of golden straw fields. It’s a scene that makes me breathe deeply just thinking about it. There is something so humble and charming about rural views that, no matter how busy life gets, can instantly remind you of where you came from.
